Shana Sigmond Studios is a New York based studio devoted to the art of visual storytelling.

The studio harnesses founder Shana Sigmond’s two-decade career to focus on: interior architecture, interior decoration, set design, art advising, and brand strategy. Our practice makes use of unlimited reference points and countless materials, coupled with love for the written word and an overarching interest in art from around the world and across centuries.

After studying Art History, Shana began her professional life in the movie industry, working on set design crafting the visual landscapes for Academy Award–winning films with directors including David Fincher, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Zemeckis, and Francis Ford Coppola on films such as Ocean's 11, Almost Famous, Erin Brokovich, Forrest Gump, Traffic, and JFK. The fleeting nature of this work fostered a desire to create environments of a more lasting quality: those that stand in real time and occupy real space for real people. 

A move from Los Angeles to New York gave Shana the opportunity to work with National Design Award–winning firms Peter Marino Architect and Roman and Williams where she created an array of designs: residential projects showcased in publications like World of Interiors; hotels, namely The Standard Highline, ACE Hotel, and Chicago Athletic Association which are all now woven to the cultural fabric of their cities; restaurants, in particular Andrew Carmellini’s Lafayette, Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield’s Breslin, as well as Facebook’s Commissary in Cupertino at global headquarters; luxury retail spaces for Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Celine, and Hublot which seduce shoppers all over the globe.

This diverse body of work led Shana to shift her focus, and build one brand — WeWork, the collaborative-office pioneer. There she guided and managed multidisciplinary teams to hone and unify the company’s visual identity.

Now, having spent more than 20 years creating iconic spaces with signature styles, Shana is doing what she loves most: visual story telling — for you.
